The need: You need to insulate windings, hold coils and provide layer-to-layer dielectric protection in a transformer, motor or battery.
Acetate cloth tape is the electronics standard for winding insulation: good dielectric strength, heat resistance (~105–130 °C), easy clean tearing and strong ink/paint absorption. Choose a flame-retardant, UL 510-recognised grade for compliance.
For higher heat (H-class), move to glass-cloth tape.

The standard electronic-insulation cloth — heat-resistant, paint-absorbing, easy-tear.

180–200 °C+ windings need glass-cloth tape.
Acetate cloth tape is the industry standard for transformer and motor winding and layer insulation, with UL 510 flame-retardant grades available.
Flame-retardant acetate grades manufactured to UL 510 / Class A insulation are available.
You need to wrap, bundle and protect a car or truck wiring loom so it stays tidy, survives heat and abrasion, and won't rattle.
See recommended tapeYou hear buzzes, squeaks or rattles from the dashboard, doors or trim and want to damp the noise where wires or panels rub.
See recommended tapeYour wiring runs through the engine compartment where it faces high heat and constant rubbing, and ordinary tape melts or wears through.
