Acetate Cloth Tape

Acetate cloth tape is the electronics standard for transformer and motor winding insulation — heat-resistant, paint-absorbing and easy-tear. ONEI offers UL 510 recognized grades.

ONEI's black acetate cloth tape is available in UL 510 recognized, flame-retardant grades for electronics insulation.

ONEI weaves and coats acetate cloth tape in-house, which keeps dielectric strength and heat resistance consistent roll to roll — the repeatability transformer and motor makers need for layer insulation.

ONEI runs a wide acetate range (A-, P- and T-series) in different thicknesses and adhesive systems. Tell us the winding temperature and voltage and we'll match the grade; UL 510 flame-retardant versions are available.

Acetate suits roughly 105–130 °C. Above that ONEI moves you to glass-cloth or PTFE tape for H-class (180 °C+) windings — we make both, so we match the tape to the winding class rather than forcing acetate.

It insulates and holds components in electronics — especially transformer and motor windings, batteries and display modules — thanks to good dielectric strength, heat resistance and easy tearing.

Flame-retardant acetate grades are available and can be manufactured to UL 510 Recognised / Class A insulation, which greatly improves conversion with electronics buyers.

Black absorbs light and ink well (anti-glare) and is the most common colour in displays and electronics; white is the second best seller.

Woven acetate cloth tape is rated for roughly 105–130 °C continuous service (Class A to Class B insulation), depending on the adhesive. Match the adhesive class to the winding's operating temperature, not its peak spike.

Acetate is thin, hand-tearable and conforms cleanly around branch points, and removes without residue — ideal in tight zones like instrument clusters. PVC suits the insulated joint itself but can shrink back and ooze adhesive under engine-bay heat; use acetate to over-wrap the bundle.

Yes — acetate cloth tape is slit to custom widths in black, white or custom colour, with total thickness typically 0.13–0.25 mm. For OEM programmes we support drawing-based specs and die-cut parts under IATF 16949.
