Standards: Grades are made to the LV 312 temperature classes. The class, the OEM specification it is qualified against and the REACH / RoHS declaration are confirmed per model — ask for the report and the declaration's revision date and scope.
Where this grade sits in LV 312: These are the tapes the standard was written for. Every tape model is placed on all three axes at once, and the carrier material decides the trade-off: woven PET leans towards abrasion, fleece towards damping, acetate towards thin insulation. The temperature class, the abrasion class with its mandrel diameter and the damping behaviour are each measured separately and printed on the report for the tape model supplied.

Choose by the temperature where the harness runs — roughly 85 °C in the cabin, 105–125 °C around the engine bay and 150 °C against hot parts — then by the abrasion class the drawing calls for.
