Certifications are how a professional buyer filters suppliers. Here's what the common tape certifications mean.

Quality systems

ISO 9001 — general quality management. IATF 16949 — the automotive quality standard required to supply OEMs and Tier-1 harness makers.

Flame & electrical

UL 510 — flame test for insulating tapes. UL Yellow Card — UL Recognized Component. UL 94 V-0 — self-extinguishing flammability rating.

Materials & environment

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 — textiles tested free of harmful substances. GRS — Global Recycled Standard. SGS — independent third-party testing. RoHS 2.0 & REACH — restricted-substance compliance.
