What is Class C / Class D abrasion?

They are abrasion-resistance grades used by European OEMs. Class C and Class D indicate progressively higher resistance to rubbing wear — required for engine-bay harnesses.

Why PET instead of PVC or fleece?

Woven PET gives far higher abrasion resistance and heat tolerance than PVC or fleece, which is why it is the default for under-hood routing.

Is it the same as 'polyester woven tape'?

Yes — PET and polyester are the same material; 'polyester woven tape' is the standard B2B description.
